As a key team member of the Simms/Mann Center, you will provide

comprehensive psychosocial care to patients with cancer and their families,

including case management, needs assessment, and individual, group, and family

counseling. You will support patient and family needs by providing referrals

for economic, psychological, social, hospice, and home care. You will also:

  • Chart all contacts in an electronic medical record

  • Deliver evening monthly lecture series

  • Update and screen the resource referral network and website

  • Support program development

  • Train interns and volunteers

  • Provide on-call service

  • Administer screening tools to develop interventions

  • Orient patients and visitors to the Center's services

  • Participate in program evaluation and determine the need for new services

Monthly Salary Range for CSW 2: $7,689.06 - $9,185.46

Monthly Salary Range for CSW 3: $8,357.22 - $9,987.60

Will hire at the 2 or 3 level based on experience and licensure.

Qualifications

We're seeking an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker with:

  • Master's degree in social work

  • Licensed in the state of California

  • Medical social work/oncology experience

  • Understanding of the psychosocial and other related issues for cancer patients

  • Knowledge of the most common cancers and their treatments

  • Experience with psychosocial distress screening instruments

  • Ability to assess and treat the psychosocial needs of individuals with cancer

  • Proficiency in facilitating individual, group, and family therapy interventions

  • Background providing referrals for economic, psychosocial, and home care programs

  • Ability to provide clinical knowledge to less experienced clinicians
