CDS Life Transitions Senior Transportation Manager in Webster, New York

Summary:

In coordination with Agency programs, the Senior Transportation Manager plans, develops, and manages the operation of transportation services. This position directly oversees all staff within the Transportation Department and ensures compliance with all State and Federal requirements as well CDS Monarch policy and procedure compliance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversight of staff in the Transportation Department and ensure all assigned tasks are completed timely.

  • Ensure Agency policies & Procedures related to transportation are maintained, current, and promote regulatory compliance with governing bodies (OPWDD).

  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities to engage staff. Oversees routes and dispatch of vehicles to assure appropriate and economical utilization of equipment and personnel within budgetary guidelines. Ensure staffing pattern is adequate for the daily operations of the department.

  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard proper utilization of vehicles and protection of individual.

  • Ensure staff understand and follow incident management requirements.

  • Oversee filing of paperwork required by the Quality Assurance department including, but not limited to, incidents, reportable events, accident reports, summaries, and follow-ups. Reviews monthly documentation including personal account ledgers, monthly summaries, residential habilitation checklists, clothing allowance ledgers, and bank ledgers.

  • Attends all annual and bi-annual case reviews and creates/revises individual protective oversight plans and residential habilitation plans.

  • Completes provider payroll.

  • Provide supervisory response to safety violations, staff performance issues, and managerial concerns as necessary.

  • Proactively train/support staff to prevent incidents and promote the safety/well-being of the individuals served.

  • Oversees program/department training compliance and all other regulatory certifications.

  • Complete monthly program/department audits/inspections.

  • Oversee transportation/vehicle maintenance of all Agency vehicles. Ensure vehicle maintenance is completed timely and efficiently. Maintain appropriate recording system to track vehicle expenses and history.

  • Secure administrative, licensing, and regulatory approvals for required authoritative governmental units to conduct service.

  • Maintain departmental budget including regular vehicle maintenance, independent service requests, fuel, staffing, and other program expenses.

  • Ensure contracts are prepared timely and completed thoroughly, including scope of work; contact and maintain relationship with vendors to obtain quotes and discounts.

  • Serve as liaison between Agency and providers as needed.

  • Monitor customer satisfaction and respond to service complaints.

  • Oversee Intake process to provide service orientation to new passengers.

  • Participate in ITT process as needed.

  • Adapts work schedule as needed for evening hour flexibility when the need arises.

  • Performs all other necessary duties relevant to the position as requested by the supervisor.

    Education and Experience:

  • High School Equivalency required. Bachelors’ Degree preferred.

  • 3 years’ experience upholding regulatory compliance and interpreting regulation preferred.

  • At least 1-year previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must meet CDS Monarch Vehicle Operator Requirements.
