Paychex Director, Indirect Segment Growth - SurePayroll in Webster, New York

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Director to lead our indirect segment, including white label, wholesale and all current reseller and bank channels. This is an executive role that requires a strategic thinker with a keen understanding of the SaaS and payroll markets. The Director will be responsible for the end-to-end success of the indirect segment. This role functions as a general manager and is responsible for growth, business outcomes, and leading all aspects of the segment including business development, marketing and product strategy, lead generation, inbound and outbound sales, and account management. The leader will work closely with technology and engineering leaders to drive improvements to resale platform and product capabilities. This leader will have strong partnership skills and will be expected to collaboratively work across functions, specifically Field Sales to drive expected outcomes. This is an ideal position for an ambitious person with a strong track record in driving revenue growth from new business development supported by sound financial and business analysis. The leader will have commercial accountability for monthly, quarterly and annual targets while contributing to the long-term (3-5 year) growth strategy and plan. Additionally, this leader will possess strong understanding of digital capabilities and automation, with expectation to drive efficiency across the segment P&L. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in managing teams and delivering results while developing deep cross-company relationships. Additionally, the successful candidate will have exceptional business acumen and deep expertise in account-based selling and relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Accountability: Drive the financial performance of the indirect segment, setting and achieving targets for revenue, client acquisition, client retention and profitability.

  • Team Leadership: Build, motivate, and lead a high-performing team dedicated to excellence in every function of the business segment.

  • Account Management Leadership: Provide exceptional relationship-focused customer service to partners, understanding their needs and maintaining high satisfaction levels with objective of growing ARR.

  • Budget / Financial Management: Effectively manage human resources and expenses to achieve return on investment.

  • Sales Management: Oversee both inbound and outbound sales strategies, ensuring that the team meets its targets and continuously improves its performance

  • Product Leadership: Collaborate with the technical and engineering teams to define and prioritize product requirements that meet the needs of the segment.

  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute a marketing strategy that effectively positions the product and generates partner leads for the sales team

  • Business Development: Build new business development strategy and establish a team with responsibility to expand a partner pipeline and channel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or related - Required

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related - Preferred

  • 5 years of experience in General Manager or similar executive role in a SaaS or payroll environment.

  • 5 years of experience in Knowledge of the reseller/wholesale market, including trends, challenges, and opportunities in the SaaS and payroll sectors. Familiarity with SaaS business models and technologies, as well as an understanding of payroll systems and services.

  • 10+ years of experience in Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful marketing and sales strategies.

  • 10+ years of experience in Customer-centric mindset with a track record of delivering exceptional partner service.

  • 5 years of experience in Proven experience in Business development of large partnerships.

  • 7 years of experience in Proven leadership experience building and motivating teams to achieve results.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $160k - $190k a year . Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
