Summary:

Chenega Professional & Technical Services (CPTS) is seeking aSection 508 Compliance Analyst - CPTSto work with our Federal client in Washington DC. This is a direct, part-time position supporting CPTS and our government client.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Performing compliance scans and conducting follow-on activities for all DOT websites

  • Monitor the 508/Accessibility email inbox and track responses to all incoming correspondence

  • Aggregate reports with findings from scans and distribute to respective groups for remediation

  • Troubleshooting technical issues with scan servers and with the scanning software

  • Meeting with Section 508 Coordinators for interested scan groups to review their scan results and recommend remediation

  • Assisting in the selection and implementation of any new tools related to 508 compliance testing

  • Accessibility edits or updates to Word.doc or PDFs, as directed

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor's degree, certification or equivalent experience

  • 3 years' consulting experience

  • Direct experience with developing, designing and testing websites to ensure conformance to section 508 accessibility standards

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to assess business requirements

  • Good understanding of HTML and CSS#m M#

  • Operational knowledge of assistive technologies used for web browsing, such as screen readers (JAWS, NVDA), screen magnification software (ZoomText), or speech-direct software (Dragon Naturally Speaking)
