About the Opportunity

Our Specialist Consultancy and Laboratory Solutions business is looking for an experienced Project Manager who can apply their skills and experience to support our clients in the nuclear industry and beyond.

Our multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers and consultants provide client-focused solutions to all stages of the nuclear lifecycle. From desk-based consultancy to on-site work, we provide innovative solutions to solve our clients’ most complex challenges.

In this role, based at our Warrington campus, you’ll be managing allocated work from assignment to close out covering all duties related to project delivery, ensuring that at all times work is delivered safely and to cost, time, quality and client expectations. The role offers an excellent opportunity for experience project managers wishing to develop their career in the nuclear industry.

The role offers a great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to take the next step in their career, managing a portfolio of projects of varying sizes and complexity.

The Project Manager (JP4) role will vary but would typically involve the activities below:

  • Proactively manage the delivery of assigned projects and tasks to time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction while ensuring that safety is at the heart of project delivery.

  • Manage and engage with stakeholders, building effective relationships and developing a good understanding of their needs, and ensuring effective project communication.

  • Identify, implement and comply with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, client procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure full compliance with all project governance requirements and processes and that project risks and opportunities are identified, mitigated and managed.

  • Provide accurate and timely information, data and reports regarding the project status, activities and performance. Support in the development of budgets and schedules for projects and controlling forecasts and actual costs against them.

  • Consistently demonstrate capability of overseeing projects with responsibility for the full performance of the project (planning, directing, supervising and controlling all technical, fiscal and administrative functions of contractual activities.) Manage projects and monitor progress in an ordered, accurate way, effectively managing scope changes.

  • Provide leadership in all aspects of health and safety performance.

  • Undertake other activities as directed, including contributing to the development of bids and proposals.

  • Act as role model for Jacobs values and behaviours.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • A proven track record in successfully leading teams to deliver projects to time, cost and quality, leading by example in the safe and secure delivery of projects.

  • Demonstrate resilience in behaviours and actions, including the flexibility to adapt and adjust in response to change, perseverance and a growth mindset.

  • Enthusiasm, drive and a proactive and adaptable approach suited to the diverse nature of the business, with the ability to prioritise effectively.

  • Proven financial management and commercial skills and experience including project forecasting, budget monitoring, tendering and contract processes and bidding and winning work.

  • Clear and confident communicator, with strong client-facing skills who is experienced in managing, influencing and challenging key stakeholders and in managing suppliers and sub-contractors and holding them to account for delivery.

  • A good understanding of project planning and controls, including scope management, cost control, schedule adherence, risk management and change management.

  • APM PMQ qualification or equivalent and membership of a relevant professional body would be beneficial

  • Experience of the nuclear industry or working in another highly regulated industry would be beneficial.
