Want to be part of a team responsible for shaping the networking and security posture across our enterprise cloud environments? We seek highly skilled Platform Engineers who will contribute by applying modern network and security best practices across our cloud environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background in modern cloud platforms to a highly collaborative team that utilizes DevSecOps, SRE practices, infrastructure as code, and policy as code.

This position is fully remote in any US location or can work out of any Jack Henry office.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Help define a codified, scalable, resilient, and secure network architecture across all cloud platforms.

  • Work with product engineers and other leaders to design secure solutions and improve our offering; primarily in the areas of security, network availability, performance, and observability solutions.

  • Scale network and security efforts by empowering engineering teams with automation, security guidance, tooling, patterns, and training.

  • Participate in organizational capacity planning, performance monitoring, and optimization discussions

  • Collaborate with our Developer Experience team to contribute to our internal developer platform.

  • Collaborate with our Observability Platform team on contributions to meaningful metrics, logging, and alerting.

What you’ll need to have:

  • A minimum of 6 years of combined experience in software development, cloud, systems, security, or network engineering, DevOps, and/or working in infrastructure-as-code environments.

  • Understanding and experience with declarative infrastructure using Terraform.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.

  • Ability to write high-quality code in an infrastructure-driven language. (e.g., Go, Python, etc.).

  • Ability to travel up to 5% for team meetings and conferences.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • The ability to thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.

  • Enterprise-scale experience with security and network best practices for Cloud platforms. We value engineers who eat, sleep, and dream about container runtime security, mitigating potential security vulnerabilities within deployment pipelines, protecting infrastructure from malicious ingress traffic, and having knowledge of common bad actors based on CIDR, ASNs, or other identifiers.

  • Experience on teams that designed and operated critical infrastructure, particularly with a focus on building reliable and secure mission-critical infrastructure.

  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices and experience in developing or managing CI/CD pipelines.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills. We strive for very humble leaders who appreciate transparency in communications and have a strong desire to mentor and guide other engineers to higher levels of contributions.

  • Experience working across teams on requirements gathering, deployments, migrations, and/or security initiatives.

  • Deep understanding of BGP routing protocols, IPSec configurations, cloud routers, virtual routers, global and regional load balancers.

  • Scaling ingress and egress security solutions across multiple regions and cloud platforms (cloud firewalls, DDoS platforms, etc.).

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.
