UL, LLC Project Engineer(风机检查/载荷计算) in China

  • Execute lifetime evaluation calculations, including wind resource assessment, 10-min SCADA data analysis, monthly operating reports reviews, evaluation of remaining useful life of structural components following UL-4143 standard, load calculations, damage equivalent loads and fatigue assessment, uncertainty calculations;

  • Become knowledgeable with different wind turbine design standards such as IEC61400-1:Wind turbine generator systems, GL:Guideline for the Certification of Wind Turbines;

  • Know more about the wind turbine technology by inspecting the wind turbines as part of due diligence work;

  • Gain comprehensive understanding on the wind turbine supply chain by inspecting the wind turbine OEMs/Suppliers;

  • Write report in English;

  • Communicate with clients to discuss the scope of work, explain working procedures and requirements. Convey project cost and negotiate completion date. Acts to address client concerns and to resolve client issues;

  • Communicate project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports;

  • Liaise with colleagues and subcontractors on the inspection work;

  • Integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job;

  • Perform other duties as directed.

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in mechanical engineering;

  • Good learning skills and open mindset;

  • Thorough working knowledge of a programming language(s) for use in statistics and data visualization, preferably in R, Python and/or MATLAB (some internal tools are developed in these languages);

  • +2 years’ experience in the wind industry, with experience on wind turbine mechanical load assessment and turbine inspection;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate highly complex engineering, construction, and operational issues to lay people;

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office products;

  • Fluency in English and local language;

  • Valid Driver’s license with an insurable good driving record;

  • Willingness to travel; and,

  • Ability to climb to heights of greater than or equal to 80m.
