Position Summary:

The Controller is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities within the organization. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial information and provides critical insights to support strategic decision-making. The Controller will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate closely with senior management to drive financial performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting.

  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of accounting staff.

Financial Analysis and Strategy:

  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with other departments to drive financial efficiency and operational improvements.

Tax and Regulatory Filings:

  • Oversee tax planning and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns and other regulatory reports.

Systems and Process Improvement:

  • Evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Lead initiatives to streamline accounting operations and improve financial reporting capabilities.

    Requirements

Requirements:

• Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position

• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Functions is essential

• Prior experience with Auditing procedures is required

• Familiarity with Budget Processes and ability to manage them effectively

• Experience in Month End Close activities is a must

• Must have prior experience in preparing Financial Statements

• Proficiency in Cash Forecasting and ability to provide accurate forecasts

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required

• Proficiency in using accounting software and other business intelligence tools.
