アマゾジャパンのサプライチェーン事業部では、そのネットワークの構築を担うメンバーを求めています。

本ポジションは、社内で発案されたビジネスアイデア、特に日本全国へのアマゾンの在庫および輸送ネットワークの構築にかかわるものをProjectとして推進し実現していくことがミッションになります。在庫および輸送ネットワークの構築は、入荷から出荷までのサプライチェーン全体を俯瞰的にとらえる必要があるだけでなく、どの地域に、どのような品揃えを、どのような配送方法・配送スピードでお届けできるかが決まるキーになるため、サプライチェーン事業部のみの留まらず、販売事業部やその他の幅広い領域の担当者との連携が必要になります。

Projectの構想段階から実行時、導入後の効果検証まで通してデータ分析による的確な判断によってProjectの成功に貢献します。各Projectには、システムの新規導入や改修を伴うことが多く、そのログデータ分析によるパフォーマンス最適化も重要な役割となります。また、国内外の他部署の分析担当者と情報交換をしながら、様々な指標の比較、分析をすることで新たなビジネスアイディアを発案していくことも有益であり、その窓口としての役割を果たしてもらいます。以下に詳細を記します。

■データ分析

ビジネスアイディアに対して、現状のデータ分析を行います。データ分析のためには、アマゾンの複雑なサプライチェーンを理解し、膨大なデータを効果的に取り扱う必要があります。そのため高度な理解力および論理的思考力が求められます。求められた分析のみでは、効果が見えない場合は、仮説や着眼点、切り口を変えて仮説検証のサイクルを自身で回し、ビジネス発案者に提案できるような推進力も求められます。具体的には、入荷/発注方法の変更や倉庫間輸送が在庫配置に与える影響や、在庫配置の変更が配送に与える影響を、コストとスピードの観点から分析します。分析の結果は、様々な専門性を持つステークホルダーが理解できる形で分かりやすく文書にまとめる必要があります。

また、アマゾンにおける新しいサプライチェーンの変革の施策では、間違いなくシステムの変更が必要になります。対象システム、およびシステムの影響範囲も多岐にわたり、各システムの担当者も海外にいることも多いです。各システムの担当者と連携して、データの構造を理解します。システム導入後の安定稼働を確認するために追うべき指標を定義し、またそれによってどのような調整や対応をトリガーするのかを考え、実際のデータ抽出やレポート化を通してパフォーマンス最大化に貢献します。

■Global Teamとの連携、日本へのシステム導入

全世界のアマゾンで運用されているシステムの開発および改修は一括してＵＳで行われていることが多く、日本で運用されているシステムもほぼ該当します。ビジネスの規模から新しいシステムはＵＳアマゾン用に立ち上げられ、その後、日本含め全世界のアマゾンに展開されるというプロセスが標準的になっています。新しいシステムの日本への展開の際には、先行して導入されている各国の分析担当者と連携し、いち早くベストプラクティスを日本に導入できるようにデータの観点からサポートします。また、日本特有のビジネス背景を加味しつつ、異なる国々のパフォーマンスを横串で比較、分析することで、改善機会を発見し、新たなビジネスアイディアとして育てていく役割を果たします。

In Amazon Japan’s Supply Chain division, we are looking for members responsible for developing this network.

The mission of this position is to implement and execute projects, particularly those related to building Amazon's inventory and transportation network across Japan. Since these network influences upstream processes like procurement and inbound logistics, as well as downstream processes such as shipping and delivery; thus, a holistic understanding of the entire supply chain is required. Also because these network performance is the key input for Amazon which decides what kind of selections we can offer in which areas and how fast or how convenient, you will be expected to collaborate with broader stakeholders outside of SCM department.

(1) Data Analysis;

During the project conception stage, you will primarily conduct data analysis. You will be responsible for understanding Amazon's complex supply chain and effectively handling vast amounts of data, requiring advanced comprehension and logical thinking skills. If the initial analyses do not yield results, you will be expected to alter your hypotheses and viewpoints, independently drive the hypothesis-testing cycle, and make proposals to the business initiators. Specifically, you will analyze the impacts of changes in procurement/ordering methods and inter-warehouse transportation on inventory placement, as well as the impacts of inventory placement changes on delivery, from both cost and speed perspectives. The analysis results need to be summarized in documents so that all stakeholders with different background can understand the outcome.

Also, in any supply chain transformation initiative at Amazon, system changes will undoubtedly be required. The scope of the systems involved is broad, and system owners may often be based overseas. You will coordinate with system owners to understand the data structure. You will define the relevant metrics to make sure the system changes is going well, also the process to trigger some corrective actions or tunings. You will retrieve necessary data and report them in a timely manner to contribute to maximize the performance.

(3) Collaboration with Global Team, System Implementation in Japan;

Most system development in Amazon worldwide are often centralized in the US, and the systems used in Japan generally fall under this category. New systems are usually launched for Amazon US and subsequently rolled out to Amazon locations globally, including Japan. When implementing new systems in Japan, you will work with analytics team in the US or other countries to introduce the worldwide best practice in Japan. Also with considering Japan-specific business contexts, you will compare the various metrics and performance among countries to find the untapped opportunity, and propose them as a new business idea.

Basic Qualifications

• Business-level Japanese: Capable of creating and interpreting business documents, as well as conducting meetings.

• 3+ years of working experience of information retrieval, data science and machine learning using SQL and Excel.

• Experience with data visualization using BI tools (e.g. Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI).

• Over 2 Years of Systems-Related Experience: Experience relating to systems for at least two years, such as in system development, system engineering, or technical consulting.

• Experience in Data Analysis or Project Management: Experience in data analysis or data-driven business improvement and project management in industries like manufacturing, retail, distribution, or IT services.

Preferred Qualifications

• EC2、DynamoDB、S3、RedshiftなどのAWSソリューションの使用経験

• リーダーシップに対するデータ分析結果の解説、報告の経験

• Python, VBAのエクセルでの活用 ・仮説検証に基づいて改善を企画,実行した経験

• 統計学(標準偏差、正規分布等)の知識

• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
