About the Role

The Eats Checkout Platform is the part of the Eats Shopping group and is responsible to empower FAST and RELIABLE product development in delivery.

We're seeking a Software Engineer to join Eats Checkout Platform team responsible for architecting and improving the systems powering the shopping funnel backend at the core of the checkout experience across all of UberEats. You will be designing and building a world-class platform that is massively scalable, extensible, highly reliable with a keen eye towards performance.

What the Candidate Will Do

Building reliable, scalable Checkout Presentation architecture.

Working closely with all teams involved during checkout.

Building the state-of-the-art Checkout Platform for UberEats.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver key features.

Basic Qualifications

6+ years of experience in a relevant role.

Coding in high-impact, deep complexity domains, owning projects end-to-end.

Engineering experience in hands-on software development with thoughtfulness of scale, latency and distributed architecture.

Driving partnerships with teams that develop software within checkout domain and identify the challenges that push the boundaries of our existing infrastructure.

Highly efficient coding in Golang, Java or any similar languages.

Experience with HTTP/Rest and web technologies like gRPC, Protobufs.

Must have deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms and an ability to use them practically when implementing solutions

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in the Checkout domain.

Frequently working in vaguely scoped areas, responsible for defining project requirements for improving reliability and performance by keeping the reusability in mind.

Proficiency and interest in working cross-team with both technical and product teams.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$185,000 per year - USD$205,500 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
