U.S. Marine Corps SECURITY SPECIALIST (ACQUISITION PROGRAM SECURITY OFFICER) in Stafford, Virginia

Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. Will serve as an Acquisition Program Security Officer for PM Tactical Comms and EW. Responsibilities You will analyze, develop, and evaluate acquisition, intelligence, and security policies to make recommendations, resolve complex issues, coordinate organizational direction, improve effectiveness of technology and program protection. You will promote an environment of cooperation and teamwork with subject matter experts (SMEs) from various acquisition competencies. You will build and maintain relationships with PMO Systems Security Engineers (SSEs) to establish and conduct robust processes and methods that will integrate technology and program protection processes. You will maintain advanced cross-competency interest and a shared understanding of Acquisition Security throughout PMO with the development and maintenance of a Security portal that facilitates learning through information sharing. You will report and/or investigate security violations, possible technology and capability compromises, and electronic spillages. You will employ a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to resolve difficult and complex security problems, perform evaluative, analytical, advisory and administrative work. You will support program personnel by planning for and assisting in integrating the security disciplines (physical security, operations security, industrial security, etc.) into other technology and program protection activities You will identify enhanced protections and countermeasures to migrate risk to program information, and technologies throughout the acquisition life cycle You will publish assessment lessons learned, notable areas of concern, deficiencies, vulnerabilities, and provide the PM recommendations to mitigate the risk of compromise. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing risks of compromise to technologies, capabilities, AND systems; Improving the effectiveness of technology and program protection: AND identifying enhanced protections OR countermeasures to mitigate risk to program information and technologies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
