UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies Instructional Systems Specialist, Mid in Stafford, Virginia

Overview

Bowhead seeks a Mid-Level Instructional Systems Specialist to join our team supporting the Program Office for Logistics Integrated Information Systems – Marine Corps (LI2S-MC) in Stafford, VA. The Instructional Systems Specialist will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and lead or collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, logisticians, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment.

The Instructional Support Specialist will provide technical support for instructional systems, including learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and other educational technologies. They will also assist users in troubleshooting issues related to instructional technology and tools, work on maintaining and updating instructional systems and ensure smooth operation.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and support to users on how to effectively utilize instructional systems.

• Create and maintain documentation for instructional systems, helping users understand their functionalities.

• Design and develop instructional materials, courses, and curriculum.

• Conduct needs analysis to identify learning objectives and requirements.

• Create instructional content, including lesson plans, presentations, and multimedia materials.

• Design assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials.

• Participate in curriculum planning and development, ensuring alignment with educational goals.

• Collaborate with instructional technologists to integrate technology into instructional design.

• Track and maintain training content as directed by program leadership.

• Support program leadership in attaining training goals for program personnel.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university; MA/MS degree preferred.

• Four (4) to ten (10) years of professional experience

• Experience with Navy or Marine Corps programs preferred.

• Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.

• Ability to manage the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific task.

• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.

• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team or perform independently.

• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must favorably pass a Public Trust background investigation. Candidates with an In-Scope DoD security clearance are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is required.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
