Job Overview

The Hosting & Cloud Services (HCS) Sr Solutions Architect & SysOps Leader reports directly to the HCS Architecture Sr Manager and is responsible for cloud architecture and operations support for customer facing Hubbell product environments. This role serves as a technical expert, in the area of cloud architecture, sysops, and system administration for complex data center and cloud-based environments. Responsible for the entire operations process through which incidents are identified and resolved for the entire external customer hosted environment, including problem recognition, research, isolation and resolution.

This position will work closely with the Aclara Network, Security and Application Support teams to determine proper server configurations, processes and procedures. This position is also accountable for hardware/software documentation, server & security projects, migrations, and second/third level client support.

You will work closely with other IT & cybersecurity teams to implement network security measures, including cloud security. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in Active Directory and Systems Administration, as well as 4+ year working in production cloud environments. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must, as well as the flexibility to work on-call and outside of regular business hours as needed.

A Day In The Life

  • Responsible for all hosted cloud-based servers including installation, maintenance, administration, documentation and troubleshooting.

  • Operate the Hosting & Cloud Services infrastructure for hosted IT systems, ensuring day to day stability of servers, storage, databases, backup, disaster recovery, data centers, appliances and all other related technologies.

  • Active Directory Domain Administration for multiple domains including permissions, OU management, Sites and Services configurations and group policy management.

  • Develops procedure to maintain up to date security and systems standards.

  • Manage all server security including TLS protocols and ciphers as well as SSL certificates.

  • Maintain and update technical documentation including server information, instructional documentation and operational processes.

  • Work in coordination with the IT and Client Support departments to support cloud and windows infrastructure.

  • Work with Client Support and Services teams on server issues, server projects and to provide support for client facing issues.

  • DNS management for multiple external domains

  • Experience implementing, managing, and executing cloud security measures: CSPM, IAM, WAF, NACLS, Loggings & monitoring, encryption, and detection & prevention tools.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • At least 5 years cloud management experience.

  • At least 10 years server administration experience including troubleshooting Windows Servers.

  • Manage large client facing server environments. 100+ servers

  • Corporate network environment exposure and understanding.

  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.

  • Familiarity with network security practices, including firewalls and VPNs.

  • Plan, organize and document complex system design activities.

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work under pressure in client facing environment.

  • Excellent understanding of server virtualization.

  • Experience with:

  • Azure IaaS

  • Active Directory

  • Microsoft Remote Desktop Services

  • Load Balancing

  • Microsoft SQL Installation and Configuration

  • Azure Advisor / Defender

  • CSPM Tools

  • Flexibility to work on call and outside of regular business hours as needed.

    Technical Proficiencies Preferred:

  • Hosting & Cloud Services related technical certifications preferred (Microsoft, AWS, etc.)

  • AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate

  • AZ-305: Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert

  • AZ-500: Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate

  • Microsoft Certifications: MCSA / MCSE.
