Business Process Improvement Specialist

The Process Improvement Specialist is a highly skilled, detailed oriented and experiences process specialist to join our Continuous Improvement team. Process Improvement Specialist play a crucial role in helping to bridge the gap between existing business processes, the development and implementation of the “to-be” state processes with or without technology solutions. This by organizing and leading workshops, documenting “as is” and collaboratively with the users / project team defining and create the expected new state.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Discover, model, analyze, measure, improve and optimize our business processes.

  • Improve and document business processes that coordinates the behavior of people, systems, information, to produce business outcomes in support of our business strategy and outcomes that can scale to a future state.

  • Produce processes that can be structured and repeatable, or unstructured and variable.

  • Align processes to be automated in the future (understands IT capabilities)

  • Participate in stakeholder interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand business and user needs and objectives.

  • Organize workshops to assist project team with eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements. Identify potential process gaps and/or opportunities to improve processes.

  • Create process flow diagrams, use cases, and other documentation to articulate system functionality.

  • Collaborate with cross functional project team and stakeholders to ensure documented processes align with the capabilities of proposed IT solutions.

  • Maintain and update process documentation as changes occur and system capabilities expand.

  • Ensure process maps are easily understandable and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

  • Establish detailed deliverable schedule, facilitate communication, and attend regularly scheduled team meetings to provide progress updates and reporting.

Skills and Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable business process mapping and process improvement experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of widely recognized process mapping software.

  • Strong ability to prepare, and guide fact finding and “to be” business process workshops.

  • Past experience mapping complex workflows and technology functions.

  • Strong ability to interpret and capture business requirements and translate into effective workflows.

  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous priorities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders and provide clear progress updates.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 4-8 years of experience in process mapping.

  • Experience with Aerospace Manufacturing

  • Experience with Scheduling & Supply Chain / Finance

  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
