Express Employment Professionals Machinist in Springfield, Ohio

Manual Machinist Pay is up to $25 an hour **1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available  E175

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manual machining techniques, possess a keen eye for detail, and demonstrate proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair motor components including shafts, housings, and bearing fits to exact specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine machining operations and tolerances.
  • Measure and inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on manual machining equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the development of machining procedures and documentation to improve efficiency and quality control processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in machining technology, and best practices.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship program in machining preferred.

Proven experience as a Manual Machinist in a manufacturing or repair environment, preferably in the electrical motor industry.

Proficiency in setting up and operating manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses.

Strong knowledge of machining techniques, including turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Excellent attention to detail and precision in machining operations.

Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform basic calculations and measurements.

Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
