IHG Director of Front Office - InterContinental Mark Hopkins in San Francisco, California

Ready to lead from the front? We’re looking for a Director of Front Office to head up our Front Office departments; setting the tone to deliver truly memorable guest experiences from first moment to last.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Directing everyday front office activities while developing and coaching your team to deliver next-level guest experiences.

  • Creating the perfect working environment for your team to thrive and driving collaboration between departments

  • Providing guests with all the information they need to enjoy a truly memorable experience.

  • Conducting routine inspections of the front office and public areas – taking immediate actions to correct any deficiencies.

  • Lead a passionate Guest Services team that aims to provide exceptional guest experiences, while performing within financial guidelines.

  • Oversee and supervise all duties performed by all Front Office colleagues.

  • Sets and maintain high level of guest service and responds to social media sites.

  • Providing support for the line staff.

  • Assist with scheduling for all areas of the Front Office operations.

  • Works closely with Front Office Managers and the Director of Housekeeping to ensure all company standards are met and company culture and programs are supported and encouraged.

  • Ensure proper training of all employees working in front office areas.

  • Coaching, counseling, and disciplining all the shift colleagues along with the department head.

What We need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration, Hospitality, or Business Administration.

  • Four years of guest service/hotel experience with two years in a management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Must speak local language(s) . Additional languages preferred.

  • Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally.

  • Experience with Opera and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

What you can expect from us:

The annual pay range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000 . This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at InterContinental Mark Hopkins . This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A team member’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
