What You'll Do

  • V2X is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a ServiceNow Platform Specialist & Asset Management Lead. This candidate will be a high caliber, multi-dimensional ServiceNow delivery expert with proven skills in assisting organizations in adopting IT Asset Management best practices and optimizing them on the ServiceNow platform. Successful candidates will have experience running multiple IT Asset Management (Hardware & Software) projects from start to finish, including workshop delivery, requirement gathering, and development. The Technical Consultant will maintain Software Asset Management programs ongoing to include making decisions on license retention and overall governance.

  • While this team member will specialize in IT Asset Management, we value platform versatility so expertise in core areas of the platform like IT Service Management, CMDB, and Performance Analytics will allow the successful candidate to operate across multiple disciplines.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain the ServiceNow platform, including configuration, customization, and integration with other systems.

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues related to the ServiceNow platform.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders as well as assess current state processes and tools, define ServiceNow solution requirements, and configure ServiceNow in alignment with these requirements.

  • Assist with the creation of stories, documentation, and technical knowledge transfer activities.

  • Manage all software assets across the Enterprise including:

  • Interpreting licensing terms and conditions

  • Reconciling software license positions

  • Proactive license renewal and software reuse

  • Attaining software compliance

  • Configure, customize, and code all areas of the IT Asset Management product line, including Software Asset Management (SAM) Professional, Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Professional, Procurement, CMDB, Client Software Distribution.

  • Stay informed about software licensing models, pricing structures, and industry trends to inform decision-making and optimize costs.

  • Work to develop, design and own technical solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You will provide administration, application development, maintenance, and technical solutions on the ServiceNow platform.

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for software asset management to optimize utilization and minimize risks.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of software asset

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the ServiceNow platform and asset management practices.

  • Streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and enhance efficiency to maximize the value derived from IT investments.

  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on the use of the ServiceNow platform and software asset management processes.

  • Create and maintain documentation, knowledge articles, and user guides to support ongoing operations and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or related field.

  • ServiceNow Certifications for System Administrator and CIS HAM and/or CIS SAM is required, additional certifications including those under the ITOM Product Line would be preferred.

  • ITAM certifications, ITIL V4 certification or any other related certifications are preferred.

  • Experience:

  • At least 7 years of proven experience in IT asset management.

  • At least 4 years of ServiceNow development experience.

  • At least 2 years of IT Asset Management experience.

  • Proficiency in software asset management, including knowledge of industry standards, compliance, and best practices.

  • Experience leading at least one full lifecycle ServiceNow implementation involving IT Asset Management.

  • Strong understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) framework and IT service management processes.

  • Proficiency in ServiceNow administration, configuration, and development.

  • Excellent understanding of implementation methodologies/SDLC (ex. Agile Scrum, Waterfall).

  • Other Requirement:

  • Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the ServiceNow platform and asset management practices. This involves streamlining workflows, eliminating redundancies, and enhancing efficiency.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues related to the ServiceNow platform, software asset management, and IT processes. This includes diagnosing root causes, implementing solutions, and preventing recurrence.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders, gather requirements, provide training, and present findings or recommendations. This includes written communication for documentation and verbal communication for meetings and presentations.

  • Ability to engage with software vendors, negotiate contracts if warranted, and manage vendor relationships effectively. Knowledge of software licensing models, pricing structures, and negotiation tactics is beneficial.

  • IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools for managing IT assets, including software licenses, hardware inventory, and contract management.

  • Capability of using automation tools for automating repetitive tasks, workflows, and processes within the ServiceNow platform and asset management activities. This may involve scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript) and workflow automation tools.

  • Use of data analysis tools for analyzing data related to software assets, usage, compliance, and optimization. This may include spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) for data manipulation and reporting tools for visualization and analysis.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Software:

  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA (SAP ECC a plus) and Microsoft cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure) as well as other cloud services as the foundation of the business systems.

  • Technology:

  • Personal computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.

  • USD - $ 90,000 - $ 175,000

  • The successful candidate’s starting pay will be based on, but not limited to, their job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
