At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Assembler I to join the Starline Team in Reading, UK. The Assembler 1 manufactures and assembles a variety of configurations of mechanical and basic electrical assemblies used in electrical distribution systems.

What Will You Do?

• Read shop drawings and wiring diagrams

• Read Bills of Materials (BOMs) to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units

• Make electrical connections according to specifications

• Assemble parts, and position, align, and fasten assemblies, subassemblies, using hand tools and power tools.

• Modify parts by drilling, tapping, countersinking, etc. machine tools, power and pneumatic hand tools.

• Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.

• Measure parts to determine tolerances, using tape measures and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

• Attach labels and mark identifying information on parts.

• Main Interface: Production, Inventory, Safety, Quality, OPEX

Qualifications

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

• Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

• Ability to operate cordless hand tools, power tools and pneumatic tools.

• Ability to read shop drawings and wiring diagrams preferred.

• Ability to read standard tape measure.

• Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.
