Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, dispatchers will be responsible for taking incoming phone calls from citizens; radio calls from officers, firefighters and medical personnel; prioritize the calls and process them according to the nature of the call.

Essential Job Functions:

To effectively support dispatch center operations, duties and responsibilities according to County and Department policy and directives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer 911 calls and dispatch non-emergency calls
• Make entries on a computer aided system
• Operate and make entries on a national computer system
• Verify warrants from computer system
• Operate a radio system from a computer console
• Transfer calls to the appropriate agency or division
• Accurately maintain a computer database
• Provide pre-arrival instructions in medical emergencies
• Other related duties as assigned
