Job Summary:

Performs technical support activities including aircraft product rework, installation support, supplier modification changes/ upgrades, etc. Ensures procedures are followed, records are kept to dates and systems are maintained. Follows Field Support Leads direction and responds to normal and critical situations. Maintains communication with third party product support staff and the Field Support Manager in resolving technical problems and/or bringing problems to the design department’s attention.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the incoming inspection for the different seating programs

  • Monitor the AC during the installation process in the factory and provide technical assistance if needed

  • Report technical issues and customer concerns to the Field Support Leads and Manager

  • Adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning components or assemblies, using hand tools and power tools.

  • Install electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems in aircraft, using hand tools, power tools, and/or software.

  • Interpret engineering test data in order to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems.

  • Lay out the installation of assemblies and systems, following documentation such as drawings, manuals, and wiring diagrams.

  • Test and troubleshoot aircraft seats, components, and assemblies, using the appropriate tools.

  • Assemble prototypes or models of circuits, instruments, and systems so that they can be used for testing.

  • Coordinate work with the field support lead, technicians, and other aircraft personnel.

  • Sign for quality records of installation, troubleshooting and rework.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  • Must have basic computer knowledge and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications are required. Computer experience/operation is necessary to perform software interrogation via a laptop computer.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, product and component specifications, and service bulletins.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical details, design concepts, analysis results, and work pass downs via verbal or written mediums.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Airframe and Power plant (A&P) Certification

  • Associates of Science Degree in a related technical and/or equivalent field.

  • 2-4 years of related work experience working on aircraft avionics systems.

  • Familiarity and experience with flight line safety.

  • Familiarity and experience with the field support environment.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 83,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
