UPMC Psychologist - Pain Management, Jameson in New Castle, Pennsylvania

UPMC Pain Medicine combines comprehensive research, clinical expertise, and world class education to evaluate and treat a broad range of pain disorders.

We offer a multidisciplinary team approach to pain care involving dedicated professionals from a number of different specialties,

including medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and psychology.

UPMC Jameson is seeking a Full-Time Psychologist to join their team.

This position works Monday - Friday, daylight hours, no evenings/weekends/holidays!

Purpose:

They Psychologist provides evaluation and treatment of patients with a variety of neurodevelopmental, behavior and/or mental health concerns. Provides diagnostic interviews/assessments with patients and/or families, conducts appropriate testing as needed, and provides feedback and recommendations to patients, families, and/ or community agencies/providers. May function as a sub-specialist within the unit or provide specialty services for other programs. Coordinates with care teams to plan behavioral health treatment across levels of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates ability to maintain accurate and complete records and data collection, performed in a timely fashion.

  • Maintains knowledge of the literature relevant to the relevant patient population.

  • Provides crisis sessions to support and assist patients experiencing acute distress and/or symptoms, as needed.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant literature and empirically validated treatments.

  • Demonstrates highly developed knowledge and skill in the area of differential diagnosis of psychiatric disorders.

  • Schedules sufficient volume of patients so that direct service productivity standards are maintained within the department.

  • Performs psychological assessment with accurate diagnostic impressions.

  • Provides formal teaching and supervision for staff and trainees.

  • Provides behavioral health services, using empirically validated treatments and interventions.

  • Consults and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams regarding patient care and treatment planning.

  • Provides behavioral health services in using an acute and maintenance model.

  • Participates in regular supervisory meetings with direct supervisor to review adherence to program standards.

  • Works collaboratively with other service lines at UPMC and outside agencies assuring continuity of care with referral sources and other providers. May participate in research efforts by assisting in subject recruitment, conducting research assessments or treatment, as directed by supervisor.

Psychologist I ($37.13 - $44.54)

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an accredited institution.

  • 3 years of experience in Psychology or related field.

  • Post-doctoral fellowship in position specific area (preferred).

  • Excellent clinical interviewing and assessment/therapy skills to work with patients and families.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Psychologist II ($40.85-$61.32)

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an accredited institution.

  • 3 years of experience in Psychology or related field.

  • Post-doctoral fellowship in position specific area (preferred).

  • Excellent clinical interviewing and assessment/therapy skills to work with patients and families.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the Psychologist Career Ladder, based on their individual experience and education.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Active PA Psychology License
