The Lead Respiratory Therapist will provide staff with a clinical/managerial resource and serve as a mentor. They will assist management with assigned tasks and assist with the daily functions/duties of the Respiratory Department as well as assisting with pulmonary procedures and the daily functions of the bronch team.

    Lead Responsibilities

  • Oversees and leads the day-to-day operations of the clinical staff and workflow.

  • Organizes, monitors, and evaluates new employee orientation and training of all respiratory and bronch team staff.

  • Assists management in interviewing and hiring prospective Respiratory Therapists.

  • Assists manager in the completion of performance evaluations and competency reviews for staff.

  • Oversees and completes the staff schedule for respiratory therapy and the bronch team, including call.

  • Organizes and presents new and updated clinical information to team members. Monitors for compliance.

  • Organizes and manages staff competencies for respiratory and the bronch team.

  • Communicates and provides and physician education for new equipment.

  • Promoting autonomy by modeling behaviors, serving as an example to others, and providing information and guidance to staff.

  • Using his/her sphere of influence to promote changes within the professional setting.

    Required Qualifications

    Graduate of an approved two year associate degree program in Respiratory Care

    RCP State of Wisconsin licensure

    Registered Respiratory Therapy credential

    CPR certification

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Basic computer skills

Excellent time management skills

  • NICU knowledge and experience

    Preferred Qualifications

3-5 years of clinical experience in Respiratory Care

Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialing
