UCLA Health Senior Research Finance Analyst-CTSI in Los Angeles, California

Description

As our Senior Research Finance Analyst, you will independently develop and / or oversee research proposals, awards, and / or transactions related to contract and grant management and maintains contract and grant records in compliance with institutional research sponsor policies. You will work on proposals and awards of diverse scope where analysis of data requires thorough understanding of complex regulations. You will also complete and approve transactions for signature by manager or other authorized institutional official.

PROPOSAL COORDINATION

  • Independently reviews various levels funding opportunity announcements and communicate with sponsors or UCLA offices for clarification.

  • Collaborates with the PI to develop timelines and establish clear responsibilities for effective proposal coordination.

  • Serves as the main liaison between PI, collaborating investigators/institutions, funding agencies, and University central offices.

PROPOSAL PREPARATION

  • Proficiently engages in formatting documents, compiling materials, and uploading to internal and sponsor portals, ensuring compliance with guidelines.

  • Prepares technical aspects of proposals for submission, including drafting, revising, and finalizing proposal sections, budgets, budget justifications, biosketches, and other support.

COMPLIANCE

  • Independently submits protocols to obtain required usage approvals for human & animal subjects, biohazards, etc.

  • Takes responsibility for disclosing export control-related data or conflicts of interest.

  • Ensures compliance with procedures for biosafety, data security, etc.

Salary Range: $64,800 to $137,600 AnnuallyQualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • High School Diploma.

  • 5+ years of research administration experience.

  • Experience preparing, managing, and projecting budgets.

  • Mathematical skills for the preparation of complex calculations and forecasts and to identify and resolve complicated financial scenarios.

  • Knowledge of and experience working with a variety of external sponsors, federal and state sponsors, private foundations, industry sponsors, etc.

  • Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting
