The Transplant Programs Administrative Director provides leadership by directing the clinical and administrative staff for the UCLA transplant programs including: Heart Transplant Program, the Lung Transplant Program, the Liver Transplant Program, the Renal Transplant Program, the Pancreas Transplant Program, the Composite Tissue Program, Auto Islet Cell Program, and the Heart Failure Program including the Cardiomyopathy Center and VAD Program, Transplant Financial Counseling Program and two outpatient ambulatory clinic areas: the Pfleger Liver Transplant Clinic and General Surgery Clinic as well as the Connie Frank Kidney Transplant Center. Working within the framework of the philosophy and objectives of UCLA Health the Transplant Director oversees the development of standards, objectives, policies and procedures for the transplant programs. Works directly with the Contracting department to ensure that the Medical Center and the Transplant Programs are accurately represented in the contracting process. The transplant program director administrates the designated Medical Center budget, policy and procedures for each program and assures that the Medical Center provides appropriate resources for the programs to support the Medical Center functions within the programs. Implementation of consistent and appropriate information systems to support Medical Center and program needs related to financial and clinical management of the transplant programs. Ensures that high quality outcomes will result through leading, planning, managing and implementing operational improvement processes. Leads transplant senior leadership, surgical and medical leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable regularity bodies (CMS, HRSA, UNOS, JC, CDPH, etc.), Achieve exemplary patient satisfaction and sustains high employee engagement and cost effective services. This executive leader provider strategic planning in collaboration with the Executive Director Clinical Operations to promote program growth leading to revenue generation and increased market share.

Salary range: $146,900- $371,300 annually

Qualifications

Master's degree, MBA, MSHA or related field in healthcare administration. California Registered Nurse License. Minimum of seven years of managerial experience in healthcare administration, minimum of five years of experience within a transplant program- required

Demonstrated expertise in clinical management skills and transplant center management-required

Demonstrated skills in strategic planning, developing and integrating programs, organizing operations, and fiscal management-required

Demonstrated expertise in knowledge of UNOS and CMS transplant regulations and requirements-required

Demonstrated knowledge Title 22, and hospital Joint Commission, and hospital CMS requirements-required-required

Demonstrated expertise knowledge of fiscal management including budget development, account management and tracking-required

Highly sophisticated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to synthesize data identifying issues and develop and implement innovative solutions-required

Proven ability to build effective working relationships and interact effectively and negotiate professionally with influential entities-required

Demonstrated expertise in human resources management. Ability to lead and manage staff with diverse skills and expertise-required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to present complex information to diverse audiences-required

Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and political sensitivity-required

Demonstrated knowledge of information systems used in transplant services. Ability to interact with programmers and vendors to develop recommendations and implement solutions-required
