What You Will Do

  • Support FIDO's US Department of Energy (DOE) Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) user facility operations, working in partnership with technical experts from across the global climate science community

  • Install, operate, repair and maintain meteorological instrumentation and instrument systems

  • Assemble, repair and design equipment

  • Create project deliverables using GIS mapping and drafting software

  • Participate in special projects and other tasks, as assigned

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Eligible applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, technology or a related field, awarded within the last three years; a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; and have not yet been accepted into a graduate program.

Desired Qualifications

  • 3 months of experience in networking protocols

  • 1 year of experience in a mentorship or leadership role

Essential Job Functions (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation): sitting and standing; climbing stairs and ladders; lifting and carrying 10-20 pounds, and loading into or off of shipping containers; kneeling; squatting; and bending. Job functions will be performed both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of environmental conditions; all personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 (https://directives.nnsa.doe.gov/supplemental-directive/sd-0206-0002) . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

426.2: This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
