CARES of Central PA Williamsport Day Program has an immediate need for a Program Specialist in Williamsport, PA.
CARES of Central PA Day Program provides person-centered services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We specialize in connecting individuals with opportunities to be family focused, self-determined, individualized, and person-centered.

The CARES of Central PA Day Program is a unique community-based program where individuals focus on volunteering and recreational activities while maximizing life skills, per-vocational skills, and social skills. Our goal is to ensure that individuals are not just in the community, but are known as a valuable part of their community.
As a Program Specialist for the Day Program, you will oversee and coordinate the program to support the community-based program including:
- Thorough knowledge of 2380 Licensing Regulations
- Ensure program site is in compliance with 2380 State Licensing Regulations, preparing throughout the year
- Ensure quality of services and client files are maintained in accordance with DPW regulations
- Participate in the interview and selection process, orientation, evaluation and supervision of the Direct Support Staff
- Coordinate special VIP activities such as holiday luncheons, VIP recognition, etc.
- Track training for direct support staff
- Organize and conduct staff meetings
- Conduct medication administration trainings for Day Program staff and do annual practicums
- Track day program incidents in HCSIS and attend Incident Management meetings and trainings
- Keep current in required professional development trainings
- Assist the coordinator and director of day programs and perform other duties as assigned
- Operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner at all times according to applicable state laws
Qualified candidates will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field including social work, psychology, special education, or human services
- Three (3) years of experience working as a coordinator for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Two (2) years of direct care experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Current certifications in First Aid and CPR
- Proficient in MS Office including Word, Outlook, and Google Docs
- Proficient in HCSIS, the DPW incident reporting system and the agency data system
- Valid driver's license
All candidates must be able to secure a PA State Background Check.
