Philips Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist in Latham, New York

Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist:

Work directly with the Operations Management Teams to develop a robust Environmental Health & Safety program that focuses on risk management, regulatory and corporate compliance, continual improvement and builds an environment that facilitates a strong worker participation program.

Your role:

  • Development and implementation of programs and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local occupational safety standards and Philips Corporate requirements.

  • Measures performance & program effectiveness through goals, objectives, KPIs, trend analysis, site inspections and monthly incident reporting.

  • Conduct internal audits and Gemba’s to evaluate compliance, manage non-conformances through corrective and preventative actions.

  • Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement improvement/action plans to prevent similar incidents from occurring.

  • Lead and/or participate on cross functional teams to represent EHS objectives related to the subject matter and meet the team’s overall objectives and deliverables.

  • Ability to provide training to other personnel on Environmental Health and Safety practices and programs.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or a related field.

  • You've +4 years of experience in a manufacturing workplace in Environmental Health & Safety.

  • You are knowledgeable on ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015 or OSHA VPP.

  • Your skills include strong planning and problem-solving; able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Able to gather and analyze information and develop alternative solutions.

  • You`ve comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements in 29 CFR 1910 and fundamental understanding of national safety consensus standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA). Advanced applied knowledge of health and safety programs including LOTO, Electrical Safety, Working at Heights, Hazard Communication, Crane and Hoist, Confined Space, Walking and Working Surfaces, Lasers, Machine Guarding, Hazardous and Chemical management, etc.

  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, or other technical tools in completing assignments.

  • You've the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position is $60,200 to $92,020 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
