RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees NPI product quality from proof-of-concept reviews and risk mitigations at Gate 2 until product release to mass production.

  • Function as Operations leader to the NPI process in order to meet Customer and Operations goals.

  • Represent Operations at Design Center for the New Product Introduction process.

  • Coordinate customer goals, Lessons Learned from factory yield, field performance, Design For Manufacturability inputs, lean goals, automation goals, supply chain inputs (vendors, components, multiple sources etc.), factory capacity and lead time constraints as inputs to the Design team at the start of NPI (RFQ/Gate 2).

  • Participate in Proof of Concept (POC) reviews with the design team to ensure Lessons Learned and Operations inputs are considered.

  • Drive the project team in identifying risks on New, Unique, Difficult and Different (NUDD) elements in the designs and ensure proper qualification and mitigation actions are put in place.

  • Work with Program Management and Design Engineering to resolve conflicts related to Operations inputs and goals. Escalate as necessary if resolution cannot be achieved.

  • Highlight to Operations management any concerns that will inhibit Operations from meeting customer goals in relation to New Product Introduction models.

  • Monitors the performance of the products as they progress through New Product Introduction stages against goals and metrics.

  • Review project performance based on NPI build reports per development stage and decide on approval if the product can go to the next stage.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation).

  • Strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to methodically solve multi-functional, technical issues completely in a timely manner.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional project teams to reach problem resolution.

  • Ability to solve complex technical and interpersonal problems independently.

  • Experience with influencing and negotiating complex situations.

  • Wide-ranging understanding of business needs, product offering, and customer applications.

  • Effective communication skills with an ability to interface with external and internal customers, influence design teams, and institutionalize an understanding of quality goals.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

  • Good team player.

  • Self-sufficient and self-starter with good judgment under pressure.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in high-tech product development and/or manufacturing.

  • Experience with successfully managing individual engineering projects or quality improvement projects.

  • Experience in new product development and execution from proof of concept to successful launch to mass production.

EDUCATION:

  • Technical Bachelor's Degree or Certified Quality Engineer Certification

COMPENSATION:

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $70,000 to $90,000 per year.
