Stantec Regional Project Management Lead - Water Sector in Exeter, United Kingdom

Stantec have a strong, growing pipeline of projects across all aspects of the Water sector and to support this growth, and ensure continued successful project delivery, we have created a new opportunity for a Regional Project Management Lead (RPML) to join our team. The RPML role can be based in either our Bristol, Cardiff or Exeter offices, with hybrid working allowing for a combination of in office and home working.

As a Regional Project Management Lead, you will be responsible for driving best-in class project delivery and for building and developing Project Managers within your assigned area. You will report into the localOperations Director and will typically have a group of local Project Managers reporting to you. Key to your role will be identifying the right Project Managers for each project, and providing them with the processes, tools, and teams they need to excel.

You will take responsibility for conducting monthly project review meetings with Project Managers to monitor project-level performance, budget, schedule, risk, change and quality management – ensuring compliance with Stantec’s Project Management Framework and supporting on proactive and timely solutions for non-performing projects.

As a member of the local leadership team, you will be involved in recommending improvements to work processes, policies, and procedures at every opportunity to enhance project execution, controls, and monitoring.

Key to the role is the development of our Project Management community. As RPML you will provide support to your team of Project Managers through coaching and formal training on aspects of project management including PM tools, change management and other critical project management activities.

The RPML is a varied role with successful project delivery being the key focus. There are clear internal aspects to the role, but the RPML role is also an external facing role involving the development of relationships with Clients and other Stakeholders, and using these relationships to obtain feedback and resolve issues.

About You

To be considered for the role of Regional Project Management Lead you must have a have track record of success within the field of project delivery and project management – being able to demonstrate examples of where you have managed projects to achieve positive outcomes for all stakeholders.

You will have a strong understanding of the competencies required to be a successful project manager - either through holding a similar role where you have been responsible for leading other project managers, or through your own experience as a project manager.

It is likely that you will hold professional Project Management Qualifications, such as being a Chartered Project Professional through the Association for Project Management (APM).

You will be a committed people leader who is willing to support your teams throughout their career journey; supporting them in developing the skills and competencies they need to be successful in role.

This RPML role is focused primarily on projects within the Water sector. Water sector experience however is not essential, and we would consider candidates with project management experience from related sectors including utilities, energy, or related engineering consultancy sectors.
