Mount St. Mary's University is seeking a highly skilled and licensed Master HVAC Technician to join our Physical Plant team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the comfort, safety, and efficiency of our campus facilities through the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and steam systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, steam, and air conditioning systems across campus facilities.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to optimize system performance and energy efficiency.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with other members of the Physical Plant team to coordinate work schedules and projects.

• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

   

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

• Valid Master HVAC Technician license.
• Steam experience is required.
• Stationary Engineer License preferred.
• Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and controls.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and able to perform physical labor.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse environment with students and employees.

   

Salary and Benefits:

• Competitive salary commensurate with experience and local market rates in Frederick County, Maryland.  Target entry hourly rate is $32/hour for qualified Master HVAC candidates.
