About the Role

Diageo’s Procurement structure is a mixture of above-market resources focused on developing world class category strategies and in-market Procurement resources focused on excellence in execution of category strategies and supplier performance management.

We are looking for an individual with a drive to be the best: a brilliant negotiator, influencer and leader that can deliver exceptional procurement strategies.

  • This role will be a part of the Supply Categories Team within Global Supply Procurement.

  • This role is a direct report to the Head of Procurement, Supply Categories

  • This role is focused on Manufacturing Services strategy execution in the Supply Categories Market.

  • The portfolio spend across Manufacturing Services in Supply categories is c£250m in Capex, £170m in Utilities, £70m in MRO and £10m in TPO p.a. across the P&L and Balance Sheet.

  • The person in this role will manage a team of 7 market category specialists

  • The person in this role will be responsible for partnering with a diverse set of key collaborator relationships across Sustainability, Finance, Brand, Innovation, Technical and both Regional & Global Procurement. In addition, this role works with a broad range of external suppliers and industry bodies.

  • Procurements aim is to deliver value to the business by the successful development and execution of world class strategies and sourcing plans. It is the Category Manager role that delivers against this aim.

  • Primary focus for the role is the execution of our strategy in market including market sourcing activity; implementation of contracts & supplier collaboration and innovation across Baileys, Beer, European Spirits and Scotch categories.

  • This person will play a leading role in implementing the Utilities Strategy, Cask Strategy, MRO Strategy and Capex Strategy for Supply Categories and in doing so Diageo’s 2030 Spirit of Progress ambition.

  • Lead the identification and management of all risks associated across the Manufacturing Services portfolio.

  • Ensure all compliance and GAR process are followed, tracked and reported on.

Experience, Skills & Capabilities Required

  • Extensive procurement experience preferably within Manufacturing Services

  • Excellent data, analytics, and insight skills

  • Excellent understanding of the category management process including Category Strategy development

  • Demonstrated performance when both leading and working on programs with global cross-functional teams, experience in executing programs aligned to category and Procurement strategies.

  • Experienced negotiator, capable of delivering great outcomes when managing high value & complex programs.

  • Knowledge and understanding of basic manufacturing processes and material supply chains desirable

  • Strong analytical and financial awareness including an understanding of Total Cost of Ownership and end to end value delivery. Use of advanced data and analytics (cost modelling & projection) to drive best in class strategies and negotiation plans beneficial.

  • Track record of generating insights to influence decision-making; strong commercial acumen
