Union County College PT Fitness Center Monitor in Cranford, New Jersey

Union County College is a public comprehensive community college providing quality, affordable, accessible educational programs that serve the greater Union County region. It is the oldest of New Jerseys 19 Associate Degree Colleges, serving both career-minded and transfer-oriented students since 1933. The College enrolls almost 30,000 credit, non-credit and continuing education students and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Many programs lead to the Associate in Arts, Science and Applied Science degrees.

General Description:

Responsible for customer service duties at the Fitness Center.

Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for front desk management in the Fitness Center.

• Answers telephones and responds to inquiries in a timely fashion.

• Monitors utilization of the Fitness Center and checks IDs for all users of the Fitness Center.

• Utilizes computer to check class lists.

• Assists in enforcing Fitness Center policies and procedures.

• Oversees upkeep of the Fitness Center ensuring safety and cleanliness.

• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Fitness Center Coordinator.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma required.

Experience:

• Knowledge of exercise equipment mechanics and functions required.

Competencies and Skills Required:

• Knowledge of exercise equipment mechanics and functions required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.

• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

• Some travel required.
