Summary:The Senior Content Strategist will be responsible for developing creative products and concepts of outstanding quality, ranging from headlines and short-form copy to long-form content, including: interactive/web, print, broadcast, direct mail, eLearning tools, and other forms of promotional and branding communications solutions for agency and clients. The Senior Content Strategist will lead both internal and external content development strategies and will write copy/content that helps to build awareness of client brands, products and product benefits and helps to stimulate sales.

  • Oversee copy/content for creative product from inception through completion to ensure a high-level of quality and maintenance of concept through approval of design.

  • Development of content strategy plans for agency clients including research and discovery, strategy development, client presentations, publishing calendar creation, media content, social media integration, and analytics methodologies.

  • Lead content teams who directly prepare, write, create, and transmit a variety of communications including daily, weekly, and monthly organizational emails, executive thought leadership content, blogs, print collateral including event and organizationally-focused pieces, and digital content for websites, portals, and social media.

  • Mobilize teams to develop strategic research, roadmaps, and messages for a variety of media including both internal and external communications.

  • Create all copy/content for approval, downloading into design/layout software, etc.

  • Research clients' products/services/images to ensure ability to write accurate, on-target copy/concepts for assigned projects.

  • Provide proofreading support for all agency work products.

  • Work to ensure copy/concepts serve the purpose of, first and foremost, promoting the client's brand image and/or selling their product or service, according to the strategic creative plan.

  • Research and write proposals, marketing plans, publicity, etc., as requested.

  • Maintain current software skills compatible with the needs of other creative team members.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or English or a directly related field and 6 years in strategic communication, strategic planning, content marketing, and/or social media marketing.

  • 6 years of copy writing experience in traditional advertising, digital, or marketing agency, with experience in marketing communications and content development.

  • Must have a present portfolio demonstrating copywriting work for print and broadcast advertising, corporate collateral, and web/interactive.

  • Understanding of content marketing and social media strategies, tactics, and best practices.

  • Ability to connect insights to design - Translate insights into opportunities and be enthusiastic about working with cross-disciplinary teams to design, develop and iterate ideas.
