Field Service Engineer

Location: Southwest Ireland – (Munster / Connaught / South Leinster)

Reports To: Regional Service Manager

The Opportunity:

We are Videojet Technologies Inc, a leading global provider of state-of-the-art industrial automation technology that enables companies to print, code or mark data on a huge variety of products (batch numbers, barcodes, use-by dates etc.)

After comprehensive initial training, the Field Service Engineer visits food, beverage, and other packaged goods production companies to install products, diagnose and solve problems, and train customers.

The Field Service Engineer role offers huge variety as you drive across a large territory (averaging one overnight stay away per week), meet new people, build lasting customer relationships, and make a real difference to business success.

About you:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Engineer with qualifications in electrical and mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will be time-served, having completed a formal apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience. The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment at client sites, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Day to Day responsibilities:

Installation and Commissioning:

• Install and commission coding and marking printers on productions lines, printer technology includes, ink (CIJ), TTO (Thermal transfer), Laser, LPA (Label apply) and many more.

• Ensure all installations meet company standards and client requirements.

• Conduct system tests to verify proper installation and functionality.

Maintenance and Repair:

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot printer issues, providing effective solutions.

• Replace or repair faulty components, ensuring equipment is operational and safe.

Customer Support:

• Provide technical support and training to customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment.

• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

• Maintain strong customer relationships to promote satisfaction and loyalty.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.

• Complete service reports and submit them to the Field Service Manager.

• Update and maintain service manuals and documentation as needed.

Qualifications:

Education and Training:

• Completed apprenticeship or equivalent time-served experience in electrical and mechanical engineering.

• Relevant certifications or technical training in electrical and mechanical systems.

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role.

• Strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
