Description:

• Perform rapid test methods

• Perform confirmation tests on suspect samples to identify the strain of bacteria

• Read, enter and evaluate process control samples

• Support root cause analysis investigations and suggest appropriate corrective actions

• Weigh appropriate amount of sample and pour correct agar to begin analysis procedures

• Pipette sample solution

• Pour agar into plates or tubes

• Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing and blending

• Read, calculate and record analysis data to produce a report

• Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process

• Must participate in cleaning schedule and maintain retain samples as required

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• BS degree in a science related field (preferably biology related, i.e. biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biological sciences)

• AS degree in biology related degree + experience

• Ability to work with food allergens

• exposure/experience with the following:

• sample prep

• weighing samples

• compositing samples

• aseptic technique

• plating

• dilutions

• lab safety

• qualitative pathogen testing (more or less needs to be able to do math calculations)

• must be able to work in a extremely fast paced environment
