This position is in Precision Genomics St. Louis Production Genotyping lab. You will primarily be responsible for organizing technical documentation and operational procedures, performing audits on equipment locations and parts inventory as required for business operations. You will provide diagnostics, repairs, and modifications of laboratory automation. You will install, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and modify lab automation or systems and electronic, electro-mechanical, and pneumatic systems, which support various laboratories. Key competencies include strong mechanical aptitude, results orientation, customer focus, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Monday- Friday Day Shift (approx. 9am-6pm) Role is 100% on-site (no hybrid or work from home model) *Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Engineers with electrical/technical aptitudes are encouraged to apply. The main focus is on production/maintenance work, with some opportunities for process optimizations

RESPONSIBILITIES Audit equipment locations, repair equipment within a lab and shop environment, parts inventory, assisting with work orders.

DESIRED SKILLS Demonstrate reliability: This is a business-critical position to keep our lab running 7 days a week across multiple shifts. The candidate must be a reliable presence on this shift. Position may require flexible or off shift hours during peak times. High Throughput/production/inventory management: Our lab processes 2+ million samples per year with fast turn-around times. Prefer experience reading machine schematics, computer interfacing for system set-up and troubleshooting, and computerized maintenance systems to complete work orders as necessary. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Automation/mechanical aptitude: The candidate must be comfortable running and troubleshooting automation independently with little guidance on this shift. Engineers with electrical/technical aptitudes are encouraged to apply.

SOFT SKILLS Excellent verbal and written communication skills Intermediate skills in Office Applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Spotfire, Outlook Advanced/Proficient skills in Excel Experience with a CMMS software, not needed but preferred

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE - 1 year EDUCATION Requires an Associate degree or relevant schooling in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
