Description

Lana Funkhouser with Robert Half is offering an opportunity for a Controller based in Caldwell, Idaho, United States. This role is within the construction industry and will require the successful candidate to handle tasks such as job costing, work in process billing, cash management, and software implementation. The Controller will also oversee payroll operations, and will need to be comfortable learning multiple software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize construction accounting principles and auditing skills to manage financial transactions.

• Oversee job costing activities to ensure accurate and efficient financial management.

• Handle work in process billing (WIP) to streamline invoicing and payment processes.

• Manage cash flow and provide forecasts as needed to assist in equipment purchases and other financial decisions.

• Provide coaching and guidance in accounting knowledge to the owner.

• Implement new software, making sure the transition is smooth and beneficial to the company.

• Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

• Learn and adapt to new software systems as needed, including Construction Partners (CP) Software.

• Manage cash flow forecasts and cash flow management to ensure company's financial stability.

• Work closely with construction partners, fostering positive relationships and ensuring efficient collaboration.

Requirements • Demonstrated experience in the role of Controller or similar financial management roles.

• Proven skills in Auditing, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports.

• Expertise in Construction Accounting, including the ability to manage and monitor all financial aspects of construction projects.

• Proficiency in Job Cost accounting, with the ability to accurately allocate costs to individual projects or tasks.

• Experience in managing WIP (Work In Progress) accounts, including the ability to track and report on the status of ongoing projects.

• Ability to develop and manage Cash Flow Forecasts, including the ability to predict future cash requirements.

• Strong skills in Cash Flow Management, with the ability to monitor, control, and manage the company's cash flows.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills to support business decision-making.

• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to work independently, with a high degree of responsibility and accountability.

• Demonstrated ethical behavior and confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications such as CPA are preferred.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
