THE OPPORTUNITY

Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Location: UK, fully remote (requires eligibility to obtain the Security Clearance)

Job summary:

We are looking for a talented Senior Systems Engineer who has the experience necessary to help build out our existing infrastructure and troubleshoot problems as they arise.

As a Senior Systems Engineer , you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure to support the organization's technological needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of systems while optimizing performance.

This role requires a deep understanding of various technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.

The ideal candidate for this position can prioritize mission critical tasks and coordinate expansion of our system so updates and other maintenance tasks do not get in the way of daily operations.

In addition to solid technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, the candidate must have great soft and customer service skills allowing them to confidently interact with customers and explain highly technical concepts in simple easy to understand terms

Your role in our mission:

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems infrastructure based on organizational requirements and industry best practices.

  • Owning and understanding the Hyper Converged Infrastructure to support current and future compute needs.

  • Lead Active Directory Services administration and management to include design, cleanup and routine maintenance and configuration

  • Server Builds - Windows and Linux

  • Perform on-call duties on a weekly rotation

Functional Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Strong communication, collaboration and problem solving skills with a track record of delivering production grade systems in a team environment

  • Demonstrated similar experience, hands-on technical architecture skills and depth across multiple technologies. Technology areas to include Cloud, Virtualization, Network, Compute, and Storage

  • Deep knowledge and experience in architecting infrastructure solutions on top of public cloud infrastructure, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Demonstrable experience with Hyper Converged Infrastructure an advantage.

  • Experience with Nutanix hardware is a plus

  • Knowledge in AD architecture and infrastructure (LDAP, Directory Replication, group policy, security, schema changes, etc.)

  • Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with external customers

  • Experience of Incident and Request Management process as defined by ITIL v3 and Windows Servers

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
