About the Opportunity

Jacobs is looking to recruit a Process Engineering Lead Lead to support the growth in the International area of our Strategic Markets business. As a Lead Process Engineer you will report to the technical lead and shall be responsible for the delivery of the Process Engineering support to the engineering and technical projects. Successful applicants to the role will lead and oversee project execution. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals efficiently and effectively. This role can be based at either our Warrington, Bristol, Glasgow office locations.

Jacobs has been engaged through an Integration Partnership Agreement to support TEPCO attain its objectives for the decommissioning of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan. The role of the International Decommissioning Team is to build relationships and provide International Good Practice that help TEPCO reach its targets. The Jacobs team also leads and coordinates the support on specific projects to achieve delivery outcomes for TEPCO.

This business expansion reflects on our success and forward strategy with an enhanced focus on our Japan campaign and could provide an ideal development opportunity, with the chance for international experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering at lead or principal process engineer level and a role model of behaviours

  • Hold self and others accountable within the process engineering discipline

  • Make safety the highest priority with a continued strive towards Zero Harm

  • Identify the discipline resourcing needs and ensure the competence of personnel delivering process engineering

  • Work with the technical lead to ensure that training plans and succession are aligned to the project requirements

  • Ensure understanding across all Projects to ensure the process engineering delivery is coordinated across projects

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Degree qualified in chemical engineering, a closely related subject or demonstrate equivalent underpinning knowledge and understanding

  • Experience delivering high quality concise technical deliverables related to complicated subject areas and with thorough quality assurance arrangements

  • Understanding of the effective definition of nuclear facility status, characteristics and conditions

  • Experience of process engineering delivery at the FEED/Preliminary design stage

  • Knowledge of nuclear legal and regulatory frameworks is desirable

  • Application of International Good Practice within the Nuclear Industry

  • Working knowledge of the engineering principals applied to nuclear engineering projects

  • Understanding of requirements management and a systems engineering approach

  • Hazard identification and hazard management techniques in the nuclear industry
