Job Description:

 

SK Siltron CSS is seeking an Electrical Engineer. This position will report to the Capital Engineering Manager. The role will support the Capital and Facility teams.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Project front end development:

Review and submit comments to the engineering contractor on Issued for Review (IFR) electrical drawings.

Maintain consistent verbal contact with contract engineering firms to reduce drawing revisions and maintain SK's electrical expectations.

Ensure and review the budget is appropriately spent during front end loading (FEL) for projects managed.

Gather, create, and submit project expectations for projects managed.

Electrical representative for Project Design Packages (PDPs).

Project specifications:

Determine electrical specifications for new equipment installations.

Advise production engineers where possible to source equipment with common facility electrical system sources.  This requires researching the equipment more in-depth and a vendor's offerings.

Request more information from vendors to understand electrical specifications when needed, to include +/- limits, disconnect ratings, and possible other voltage offerings.

Have some basic knowledge of other disciplines (mech., civil, etc.), to gather the appropriate information for team mates to provide design input.

Detailed Engineering:

Provide inputs and recommendations for electrical portion of project drawings.

Need to be able to size wiring, grounds, disconnects (breakers, fuses, etc.).  Not just for small projects as electrical lead, but to appropriately review external sourced drawings as well.

Interface with electrical contractors continuously to address as built issues and correct through drawing space and/or specification changes.

Design, source material, and provide drawings as necessary for one-off projects.  i.e., HVAC VFDs, MWS, nitric bench, etc.

Design and communicate build requirements for equipment control panel needs.

Communicate electrical sources (MCC bucket, panel designation, etc.) for equipment to installation team(s) with understanding of electrical load limits.

Review and submit (as necessary) Issued for Construction (IFC) electrical drawings.

Project Execution:

Point of contact for assigned projects as project manager.

Create and provide project documentation to other departments.  i.e. finance, executive leadership, etc.

Communicate and schedule contractor work, interface with production team to balance workload and installations, and maintain the plan.

Assemble and submit project closeout paperwork for project managed.

Subject Matter Expert:

Collect, analyze, and report electrical systems within facility.  This includes power distribution and furnace failures as needed.

Research, to include the how's, the electrical requirements to be monitored within the power distribution and maintain working knowledge.

Monitor electrical distribution periodically with PCS7.

Provide electrical calculations of the electrical distribution loads.

Monitor and advise on concerns and/or corrections for total harmonic distortion (THD) generators for equipment installations.

Provide input for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) requirements.

Communicate with SK electricians as well as contractors for project needs of electrical installations.

Understand and keep documented tally of loads to the system.  This includes overall power distribution as well as individual phase and equipment panel loads.
