Responsibilities

  • Make software services reliable, secure, monitor and auto-manage infrastructure for specialized workloads on Azure.

  • You will be involved in improving the reliability of infrastructure & platform services used by mission critical workloads.

  • Achieving Operational Excellence via Metric-Driven Strategies: Establish and execute metric-focused strategies for operational excellence, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and error budgets to enhance reliability.

  • You will write software to automate and build reliable systems to enable our platform to scale effortlessly. It is a fast-paced environment. Our emphasis is on value to customers and live site excellence.

  • Create automations to better handle incidents, documenting troubleshooting guides and to minimize the MTTA and MTTM.

  • Participate in Oncall rotations

  • Implementing and optimizing development workflows and processes to enhance developer productivity, including identifying bottlenecks, streamlining code review procedures, and introducing automation solutions to accelerate software delivery timelines

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience with full stack troubleshooting across networks, applications, hardware, management fabric or distributed services layers.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the below technologies: 

  • Azure VMs, KeyVault, Service Fabric, ARM templates, Traffic Manager, Storage Accounts,  DevOps release and build pipelines 

  • Docker containers, Kubernetes, Windows, and Linux OS fundamentals 

  • Grafana, Service mesh, Redis and Cosmos/PostgreSQL Db

  • Certificate lifecycle management including creation, administration, domain registration and revocation etc. 

  • Source code management using Git, querying data in Azure Data Explorer, authoring and building PowerBI dashboards , authoring workflows using Power Automate 

  • Awareness of, and ability to reason about, modern software & systems architectures, including load-balancing, queueing, caching, distributed systems failure modes, microservices, and so on.  

  • Associated troubleshooting skills, including the ability to follow remote call chains across multiple service layers. Consequent understanding of monitoring in distributed systems.
