Summary:The Sr. Structural Engineer will be responsible for structural design and oversee the preparation of construction documents for buildings of various occupancies and specialty structures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Design of complete structural systems for buildings using reinforced concrete, masonry, structural steel, and timber.

  • Prepare engineering calculations and oversee the production of construction documents.

  • Coordinate the structural design with architects, other engineering disciplines, the Building Official, and contractors.

  • Perform construction administration function including the review of shop drawings and interpretation of construction documents.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required

  • 8 years’ experience required

  • 4 years with USACE project experience required

  • PE certification required

  • Secret Clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work as a team member interacting with architects, owners, contractors, and coworkers.

  • Ability to travel

  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines.

  • Technical ability to independently work through a project from schematic design through the construction phase with minimal guidance.
