Summary:The Mid-Level Architect will support the Project Manager and team to complete high quality projects on schedule to meet our client expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Assist in the development of project program elements and the presentation of alternative building layouts that respond to those elements maximizing available space and responding to Client input.

  • Understand of the selected structural frame and development of alternative building facade systems to complement that frame.

  • Coordinate required engineering systems and communicate with sub-consultants.

  • Coordinate and edit building finishes sections of the project specifications.

  • Take on responsibility for all drawings production activities on the assigned project including but not limited to assumptions, pertinent Code provisions, analysis, design, drafting, specifications, construction administration, etc. with minimal supervision.

  • Meet with clients, contractors, vendors and agencies and develop strong professional relationships.

  • Maintain existing document quality and develop new ways of improving quality of documents as well as quality of constructed product.

  • Resolve technical/design issues to maintain progress and quality control, communicating and coordinating with the project team and consultants, and assisting in ensuring the project meets building codes, budget, and quality control

  • Responsible for production of construction documents along with the Sr. Project Architect.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 8 years’ experience required

  • 4 years with USACE project experience required

  • Must be a licensed Architect

  • Secret Clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of building codes, particularly local building codes in Maryland. Demonstrates working knowledge of building façade materials and details.

  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to travel

  • Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in the use of Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Working knowledge of rendering programs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
