Tech Program Manager

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The Tech Program Manager will be responsible for the development and ongoing management of one or more multi-year programs. Manages Enterprise-wide programs of $7 M - $10M+ size with multiple concurrent sub-projects or equal complexity. Responsible for applying project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems. In addition to all responsibilities of a project manager which include managing all aspects of a project including initiating, planning, executing, closing and controlling.

How you will make an impact:

  • Coaches and mentors project team members; mentors other project managers around project management methodology

  • Develops program materials using Powerpoint and other internal and external materials for Interoperability leadership

  • Creates proactive program communications to ensure business partner alignment

  • Partners with program director to track KPIs and weekly status updates

  • Develops requirements documents; develops project approval matrix

  • Identifies project team training and tool needs

  • Summarizes highly technical and innovative concepts in a clear and concise manner to drive stakeholder support and engagement

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years project management experience in broad-based information systems, full life-cycle application development and/or building enterprise applications and/or data warehouse planning and development with 3 years leading and directing project task(s); or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Strongly prefer project management certification within one year of job placement and prior to moving to next level

  • Extensive experience with creating collaborative teams, building relationships, gaining stakeholder buy-in, critical thinking, conflict resolution, managing resources in a matrixed environment, and communicating effectively at all levels of an organization

  • Extensive experience working with project management applications related to time-management, budgeting, reporting, and documentation, preferred

  • Experience working with portfolio management applications

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills

  • Proficient with PowerPoint and other presentation tools

  • Detail oriented and knack for storytelling in a concise and easy to understand manner

  • Ability to prioritize based on changing needs of the program and leadership
