Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Center Manager and in collaboration with the Education Manager, the Education Mentor is responsible for assisting and supporting Teachers in the implementation and coordination of educational program needs and ensuring that developmentally appropriate teaching strategies are used with fidelity and for providing and coordinating training for the staff, parents, and volunteers in such a way as to ensure quality instruction is delivered as defined by the Head Start Performance Standards and supported by the Education Manager. Education Mentors will receive daily operational supervision and instruction from the Center Manager with input from the Education Manager to support clear communication and maintain a high level of instructional authenticity that best meets teacher and child needs.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:**

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education and equivalent coursework in ECE with Early Education teaching experience.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience.

Preferred:

  • Related work experience with young children in a Head Start or similar program.
  • Previous experience in Head Start as an employee, parent or volunteer; experience or training in working with children who have special needs.

Salary - This is an Exempt position. $25.77 - $32.21 hourly or $48,241 - $60,297 annual depending on qualifications (related experience, education, training, etc.)
