U.S. Army Medical Command Supply Management Officer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Summary About the Position: Serves as Chief of the Supply Chain Management Branch, works under policy statements, regulations, and laws, requiring interpretation by a significant expert with a depth of specialized knowledge. Develops policy, guidance, and managerial procedures to promote efficient and effective medical supply support operations for the logistics division, the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), the Kansas Market (KS Market), the combat/contingency units assigned to the four-state region. Responsibilities Direct long range and annual medical supply planning. Provide customer support using supply systems and financial information in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system or other automated systems. Logistics expert in supply and budget management for Class VIII Medical Supplies, to include TSMP, and GPC purchases. Serve as action officer and advisor on consolidated installation/retail supply accounting and Supply Chain Management operations. Develop databases, reports, and automated routines for use in tracking expenditures. Develop surveillance to track, monitor, and evaluate Process Improvement relevant to logistics and environment of care standards. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Develop databases, reports, and automated routines for use in tracking expenditures, manage the programs and projects within the Defense Health Program Fund (DHP) for the Defense Health Agency (DHA), logistics expert in supply and budget management for Class VIII Medical Supplies, to include TSMP, and GPC purchases, provide customer support using supply systems and financial information in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system or other automated systems. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Control of Funds Data Collection and Usage Medical Supply Inventory Management Organizational Awareness Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a (CP) 13 - Supply Career Field position. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
